2014 Celebration of Scholarly Achievement

Faculty and Student Publications, Posters, and Projects

Tuesday April 15

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Engineering High Bay, McNichols Campus.

This year, the Celebration will be the signature event of the first annual Research & Scholarly Achievement Week.  This week of research-focused events and activities will begin on Monday April 14 and conclude at noon on Thursday April 17.  Included are faculty and student focused activities, panel presentations and events that will engage the entire university community.

This years’ Celebration of Scholarly Achievement will include oral presentations, posters, non-print media, books, book chapters, journal articles, and student awards.  We encourage students and faculty from all three campuses to participate. Projects must be related to the faculty’s academic discipline or research. In addition, we require that applications for submissions of information about a publication, poster or project occur electronically.  We hope you will submit something, plan to attend or both!

Be sure to submit early!  Please note that the deadline for inclusion in the booklet will be a hard deadline this year.  We will be working with a printer in order to deliver a higher quality brochure.  Also, we may be videotaping select research products for inclusion on the website.

  • Oral Presentations
You are invited to present a 5-6 minute talk about your research, publication or project.  Presentations will run concurrently with the event from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Posters and Non-Print Media
If you would like to present a poster, electronic slideshow, or non-print media project (e.g., video, architectural model, costume, or other 3-dimensional scholarly work) please submit an abstract of your presentation.  Posters may be on display in the library on Wednesday andThursday of Research & Scholarly Achievement Week.
  • Print or Electronic Publications
Faculty publications, either in print or electronic format, including refereed journal articles, books, book chapters and conference proceedings must be submitted by filling out the electronic submission form.
  • Student Awards & Recognitions
Faculty, professional organizations or outside groups that sponsor competitions in which scholarly and or creative student work is judged may provide information on winner entries for inclusion in this year's event.
